This section provides information and links to the various different departments and programs that the University has to offer for individuals with disabilities or special needs.
Americans With Disabilities Act

If you need auxiliary aids and services for effective communication (such as a sign language interpreter, an assistive listening device or print material in digital format) or reasonable modification to programs, services or activities contact the ADA Coordinator as soon as possible.

Appeals resulting from an accommodation determination should be directed to the Executive Director for Inclusive Excellence.

Academic Accommodations
Eligibility for academic accommodations and related services for students with learning and physical disabilities are coordinated by the Director and staff of the Office of Learning Services. Services may include but are not limited to academic accommodations, auxiliary aids, assistive technologies, housing accommodations, and others.
Accommodations and services for students can be requested by completing and submittingaSpecial Assistance Request Form.
Accommodations specific to test taking can be requested utilizing theTesting Accommodation Requestform.

Dining Services Accessibility
Elevator Access to the Upper Deck and Lookout
For elevator access to the Upper Deck and Lookout:
- Pay for your meal or utilize a meal swipe at the Checker Station located at the main entrance.
- Request for the cashier to provide a temporary elevator access card and follow the sign-out procedure.
- After leaving the Upper Deck, return the elevator access card to the Checker Station.
**Short-term and long-term elevator access may be requested through the Office of Learning Services, allowing individuals to access the elevator using their personal access card. Fore more information, contact Learning Services at717-871-5554 or by e-mail atLearning.Services@millersville.edu.

Employee Reasonable Accommodations
A reasonable accommodation is a modification or adjustment to a job, the work environment, or
the way things are usually done that enables a qualified individual with a disability to enjoy an

Residence Hall Accessibility
The residence halls are built to comply with fire/life safety and ADA regulations. Additionally, Housing & Conference Services staff work with the Office of Learning Services on issues related to placements,access, and logistics for individuals with access and functional needs.
Housing accommodation requests are handled through the Office of Learning Services in the same manner as academic requests, using the form below.

Service and Emotional Support Animals
Individuals with disabilities may use service animals and emotional support animals for a variety of reasons. A service animal means any dog, or occasionallya miniature horse, that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability, including a physical, sensory, psychiatric, intellectual, or other mental disability, while Emotional Support Animals or Comfort Animals are often used as part of a medical treatment plan as therapy animals.
Service and emotional support animals are permitted based on the UniversityService and Assistance/Emotional Support Animal Policy.
